WinMend Folder Complete is a small free, no-cost software designed to safely hide your important files on USB external flash drives, local disks, CD-R discs etc. even when the files are accessed from another computer or another OS. The application uses a cryptosystem to scramble up the file before sending it to the other computer. Once the file has been successfully downloaded and safely hidden, you can then decide to either restore the file to its original state on another computer (only if you know how to do this) or delete the file completely, again using the built-in removal tools that the software provides for each type of file. The removal tools work by scanning every folder on your hard drive for any embedded registry keys or other corrupt / damaged information which may prevent the file from being restored if that restoration is to be made.
One of the major advantages of using the software is that it provides a standard set of features, allowing all users of the application to effectively remove all of their unwanted files from the system. It's built in 'Remove Program Files', which allows you to specify the folders where the program files are to be removed from, allowing WinMend to remove all of them, effectively erasing all references to the program files on your computer. It's also includes a built in 'Export/Import folder' function, allowing you to import or export data to various external storage devices and also to view the exported data on another computer. Finally, the application provides support for 'Task Manager' so that you can easily arrange your desktop shortcuts and tasks to conveniently access the files you need.
This is perhaps the one and only software that has the ability to quickly hide files / folders. To hide a file, just right click on the selected item in the WinMend folder menu, and then select "Hide". Similar to the 'Local Hiding' option found in Windows XP, you can also add the folders to a specific category by right clicking and choosing "add category". You can even use Windows Task Manager to quickly hide / restore them. The only requirement is that you have a working computer with an Internet connection to use the program.
